THE PAINS OF LOVING AND NOT BE LOVED IN RETURN.
19:22
Love sought is good, but given unsought is better!
Waiting on the one you truly love
to reciprocate the love you’ve shown most times is a futile journey!
Allow me tell you a true-life story!
Mark,
a young man in his late 20s works in a law firm, he was richly blessed with
wealth and lacked nothing except a true companion. Mention anything money could
buy, Mark had it all. Think of anywhere money could take one to, Mark has been
there. But, he had no woman he could say loved him sincerely, aside his mother
and sisters. He had a strong believe in the existence of true love, and this he
promised to show to any woman he decided to make his. He had been through very
rough relationships, ones full of lies, and deceit. He had almost given up on
love until he met Uriel at a house party he was invited to. Uriel, no doubts
was very beautiful and her physique was breath-taking. He walked up to her,
they exchanged contacts and in no time, became close friends. As a soft-hearted and
easy person, Mark began to fall in love with her. Her thoughts filled his mind
at all times. He decided to propose a relationship, in order to ascertain if
the feeling was mutual. Surprisingly, Uriel accepted his proposal and this only
made Mark fall deeper. All he ever wanted was a woman to love him sincerely as
much as he would love her. Growing up he had seen how bad his father treated
his mom, and he made a promise to her, that he will never treat a woman
wrongly. All his life he has loved and been with one woman at a time, but they
have never treated him same way. All they did was lie to him, cheat on him and take his generosity for granted. Now, he had started something new with Uriel, all he could do
was hope that she would be different. 6 months into the relationship, he kept on
to his promises, he treated her well, provided her needs to the best of his
ability and kept on loving her sincerely. But just as usual, the feelings were
one-sided. She didn’t feel same way. He sensed this, but wasn’t sure, hence he
never confronted her. Instead, he kept expressing his love to her, not just in
words, but also in actions. Uriel kept
on receiving gifts in all forms, but the way she felt towards him never
changed, she never loved him.
Unfortunately,
she was caught exchanging kisses with another man, when confronted, she didn’t
even feel remorse, instead, she flared up, throwing all sort of ill-words at
Mark, saying she never loved him, and will never love him. Also, she thanked
him for the cash and gifts he gave her, saying it was all a form of
compensation for her time.
Today,
Mark is still unmarried at 37. Unable to change the person he is, and unable to
disregard the promises he had made to his mom who he loves wholeheartedly.
Hence, he decided to not commit to any woman.
To love is a good thing, but to be loved is the greatest privilege of
them all!
It
is so sad how people feel so free toiling with the emotions of others. Not
everybody has been blessed with the ability to love sincerely. Also, not
everybody is able to stop themselves from falling in love, especially when you
successfully make them happy. Hence, when you find a soft-hearted person, who
loves easily and freely, treat them right, but if you know within you, that you
cannot give back that same amount of love, or one close to that amount, please,
walk away and save them the stress of having their heart broken.
It
is because of cases like this, most men and women have given up on love and up
for vengeance on any heart that dares come close. Because of a bad past
experience, they’ve decided to close their hearts to ever loving. Some become
so blind that they can no longer differentiate between a good man/woman
and a bad man/woman. They become so naive that they cause hurt to any sincere
heart that dares to develop interest in them.
It
is so sad the turnout of things in the world today, but my candid advice to all
is, if you are not ready for love, do not waste the time of another who is
ready. We have all been through shit in life and had our hearts broken. So, if
you are not ready, do not try, do not let out your anger on an innocent, all in
the name of “they are all the same”. They all can never be the same! You end up
damaging a once beautiful heart, and leave an innocent person to come feel the
wrath of your damage. It is so unfair!
Also
to everyone who has ever been victim to heartbreak, or has loved and never been
loved back, the Lord is your strength, I could imagine the pain you must have
gone through or you are going through. But, please do not give those who hurt
you the chance to feel they have won. Do not give up on who you truly are, one
with the ability of loving. Take one step at a time! Try be careful with your
heart. When you find the one whose words and intentions are true, please love
them sincerely.
It is never easy, but it will be alright!
To love is nothing, to be loved is something, but to love and be loved
by the one you love, that is everything!
Never take love for granted!
Do not get it twisted, LOVE is a beautiful thing!
