COVID-19 VACCINES AND THE SIDE EFFECTS.

Indeed, it is revitalising knowing that vaccines for the deadly COVID-19 virus has been produced. Amidst the jubilation, it is necessary that you know the possible side effects of this vaccine.
Currently, there exists 3 major clinically tested and approved Covid-19 vaccines.
- Pfizer/BioNTech COVIC-19 vaccine (BNT162b2). Manufactured by Pfizer, Inc., and BioNTech. WHO issued it an Emergency Use Listing (EULs) on 31 December 2020. The recommended dosage is 2 doses, 21 days apart. It is recommended for people aged 16 years and older.
Covid-19 Vaccine - Moderna mRNA-1273 vaccine. Manufactured by United States National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), and Moderna. It is recommended for people aged 18 years and older. The recommended dosage is 2 doses (100 µg, 0.5 ml each) 28 days apart. WHO issued it an Emergency Use Listing (EULs) on 21st January, 2021.
- AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccine(AZD1222). It is manufactured by AstraZeneca plc and Oxford University. The recommended dosage is two doses given intramuscularly (0.5ml each) with an interval of 8 to 12 weeks. It is recommended for people aged 18 years and older.
On 15 February 2021, WHO issued EULs for two versions of the AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccine, manufactured by AstraZeneca-SKBio (Republic of Korea) and the Serum Institute of India.
- AstraZeneca/SKBio - COVID-19 Vaccine (ChAdOx1-S [recombinant]). 15 February 2021. The recommended dosage is 10 doses.
- Serum Institute of India Pvt Ltd - COVID-19 Vaccine (ChAdOx1-S [recombinant]) - COVISHIELD. 15 February 2021. The recommended dosage is 2 and 10 doses
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF COVID-19 VACCINES INCLUDE-
Though these vaccines will help protect you from getting COVID-19, you may get some side effects, which are normal signs that your body is building protection.
On the arm where you were shot:
- Pain
- Redness
- Swelling
Through out the rest part of your body:
- Tiredness
- Headache
- Muscle pain
- Chills
- Fever
- Nausea
