THE JOY OF GOOD FRIENDSHIP.

18:41

Friendship is the greatest possession of all things which wisdom provides to make life entirely happy. It is different to love, it can grow into love, or it can become a whole special relationship of its own.

Francis Bacon quoted, “Friendship doubles joy and cuts grief in half.”

A lot of persons would say, “who friendship help”?

Here is my response; ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friendship is the sweetest gifts from God. If you have that one awesome friend, you would have a better understanding of what I am talking about.

The “catching up” with an old friend – reminiscing of sweet old memories.
The belly roaring laughter, and acting like a kid again
Not worrying about your life’s problems, but focusing on that moment, the positive benefits you already have in life.
Nothing in this world can be compared to these moments. Absolutely nothing!

A friend accepts you the way you are. Friendship doesn’t care how rich you are or where you come from.
Elbert Hubbard quoted, “A friend is one who knows you and loves you just the same.”

A friend is never judgmental.
Lucius Annaeus Seneca quoted, "one of the most beautiful qualities of true friendship is to understand and be understood."

A friend does everything in his/her own power to carry you along, never leaves you behind.
Henry Ford quoted, “My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me.”

A friend is a confidant.
William Penn quoted that, “ A true friend freely, advises justly, assists readily, adventures boldly, takes all patiently, defends courageously, and continues a friend unchangeably.”

A friend is very forgiving and never keeps a grudge.
Jean de la Bruyere quoted that, “Two persons cannot long be friends if they cannot forgive each other’s little failings.”

Indeed, there exists negative friends. Some have been victims of betrayal by people they called friends. That is why you should beware of who you call a friend.

Not asking that you be friends with the entire world, but at least, there should be 1 or 2 persons in your life, whom you can truly call a friend.

Friends come into our lives through various channels and for different reasons; they could be family, colleagues or neighbors. From this multitude, we single out a few for qualities that we most admire.
It does not take long to sense a relationship which feels as if we have known some folks for our entire lives, in other words, we feel completely at ease with them. We feel safe, we neither weigh our thoughts, nor measure our words, we pour them all right out, just as they are – with a certainty that the sincere and faithful hands of these invaluable friends will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping and with the breath of kindness, blow the rest away.

Here are a few bible verses about friendship:

1Corinthians 15:33 – do not be misled, bad company corrupts good character.

Job 2:11 – when Job’s friends heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him.

Luke 6:31 – do to others what you would want them do to you.

Proverbs 18:24 – one who has unreliable friends soon come to a ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Proverbs 22:24-25 – do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared.

Proverbs 13:20 – walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffer harm.

Proverbs 27:5-6 – better is open rebuke than hidden love. Wounds from a friend is can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.

Ecclesiastes 4;9-10 – two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: if either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.

Proverb 27:17 – a friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.

Proverb 12:26 – the righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

A good friendship lends itself to a manner of conversing which flows naturally and with ease, neither one trying to impress, judge or to be in competition with the other.

According to Waldo Emerson, “the only way to have a friend is to be one.”
